CW2 Francisco, John L.
Chief Warrant Officer Two enlisted in the United States Army, for MOS 11C Indirect Fire Infantryman in 2002. He was assigned to C TRP, 1-14 CAV 3rd Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division in Fort Lewis. At this location, he participated in the first fielding and deployment of the Stryker Urban Assault Vehicle. He deployed twice to Iraq with 1-14 CAV during Operation Iraqi Freedom participating in the liberation of Samarra, Mosul stability operations, and the Baghdad surge.
He was injured in 2007 by a grenade blast in Baghdad, which resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury. Following the injury, he was evacuated from theater, received surgery and recovered from his injury in six months. His injury led to a reclassification in his MOS, he chose Military Intelligence to continue combat operational support.
CW2 Francisco attended Military Intelligence AIT in 2009 and assisted the instructors with combat experience and lessons learned enhancing the fusion of operations and intelligence. Following graduation of AIT, he was assigned to 2nd Brigade, 101 Air Assault Division. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 during the surge operating in Kandahar province and initially served as an Intelligence Analyst with 3-20 Field Artillery; developing an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance matrix, resulting in over 30 insurgent kills. Later in the deployment Midway through the deployment he was reassigned as the S2 Platoon Sergeant with 2-502 Infantry fusing All Source, HUMINT, SIGINT, and ISR assets.
In 2012, he was assigned to 8 Theater Support Command in Hawaii as the S2 Platoon Sergeant. While in 8 TSC his team produced a bi-weekly USPACOM AOR Intelligence Summary and supported annual Ulchi-Freedom Guardian exercises in South Korea. In 2013, Sergeant First Class Francisco was appointed to the rank of Warrant Officer One as an All Source Intelligence Technician, 350F. His first assignment was with the Theater Ground Intelligence Command – Central (TGIC-C). Upon arrival at Fort Gordon, Georgia he was deployed in 2014 ISO USARCENT Coalition Forces Land Component Command operating in Baghdad. During deployment, he was the All Source Technician responsible for daily Intelligence Summaries and provide situational awareness in preparation for counter-Islamic State in Iraq and ash-Sham operations. Upon return to garrison he conducted multiple deployments as the Fusion Technician ISO the Deployed Intelligence Support Element deployments to Kuwait and Jordan.
Chief Warrant Officer Two Francisco completed Warrant Officer Basic Course in 2014. His civilian education includes Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate’s Degree in Intelligence Studies.
