Crazy Horse 6 is an active duty Army officer, a devoted husband of 16 years and proud father of two wonderful children. He had the distinct privilege of leading a Stryker Reconnaissance Troop of 105 of America’s finest warriors for 30 months, including a 15-month deployment to Iraq as part of the “Surge” in 2006-7. Several of the stories in this book are written by Soldiers who served side by side with Crazy Horse 6 in the mean streets of Baghdad, Diwaynia and many places in between. Even though it has been 10 years since many of the events of his story occurred, he remains in touch with many of the incredible men he had the honor to serve with at a critical place and time in the fight of Iraq.
Throughout his 17-year career, Crazy Horse 6 served in a variety of command and staff positions including Mobile Gun System Platoon Leader, Recce Platoon Leader, Troop Executive Officer, Squadron S-4, Assistant Professor of Psychology at West Point, Station Commander for a Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) and member of the Army Staff, but no assignment past, present, or future will ever be as memorable as fighting side by side with the brave men of Crazy Horse Troop! Crazy Horse 6 chose to remain anonymous so that all credit, praise and notoriety is given to the entire Troop and not the one who was blessed with the opportunity to lead them into combat.
